Leadership & Ministry Training (LMT)

LMT 111  |   LOCAL & GLOBAL MISSIONS (4 credits)

When you've grasped the concepts of God's grace, you can't help but respond with telling others! In this class, you'll be equipped and challenged to share your faith effectively according to your unique temperament and gifts. You will also learn about evangelism in your personal spheres and around the world. 


LMT 211 | CREATING CHURCH CULTURE (4 credits)

This course will study the importance of creating, defining and maintaining a specific culture in an organization. The Crossing’s Code of Values will be studied in depth and you will learn how to be intentional about creating culture as a leader.


LMT 301 | LOCAL CHURCH MINISTRY (3 credits)

What is the purpose of the local church, and how does it fulfill those purposes in our culture today? This course will study the Church’s role in our world. You will learn about Jesus’ purposes for starting the Church, and how Christians from different denominations and perspectives can find unity.


LMT 411 | COUNSELING & PASTORAL CARE (3 credits)

Learn the basics of leading and caring spiritually for the people in your life.  Learn how to listen prayerfully to identify the root of life issues. We will also examine how to offer spiritual guidance and when and where to send people to get the help they need.


LMT 412 | PERSONAL & PASTORAL LEADERSHIP (3 credits)

In this course, you will study Jesus’ ministry to learn and develop essential personal leadership skills. We will take a practical look at what it takes to effectively lead a team of people, including how to invest in people, how to grow and manage your teams, and how to overcome challenges in leadership.


LMT 421 | MINISTRY OF TEACHING & PREACHING (4 credits)

Whether it’s a forty-minute message or five minute momentum meeting, all leaders must be able to communicate Biblical truths effectively. In this course you will learn how to study scripture in order to draw from and teach the principles of a passage, as well as how to prepare for and preach a message.
